Hammonds House Museum is the only museum in Atlanta dedicated to the collection, exhibition, and study of fine art of the African Diaspora and Africa. In its 19th century Eastlake Victorian facility, the Museum offers visitors the opportunity to gain a wider understanding of the contributions of diverse artists of African descent to world culture. Founded in 1988, it is an art museum and resource center honoring the legacy of Dr. Otis T Hammonds (1929-1985). It houses a fine arts collection of contemporary African Art, African and Haitian Art. The Resource Center collects Slides, video archives, vertical files and books on artist.
