Youth Educational Enrichment Program (After-School & Camp)Recognizing the need to engage our students to step outside the norm or their comfort zone, and our competitive status against those of our global counter parts, our after-school program provides an unconventional curriculum to our students. During the hours of Monday - Friday from 3PM - 7PM, we encourage and challenge them to test their academic limits. To support one of our Core Areas, Knowledge of Self, there is a heavy emphasis on African American Studies. It's impossible for our students to understand and take ownership of their responsibilities as citizens in our society unless they have an understanding of their history. They need to acknowledge and understand whose shoulders they stand on. Our goal in the after-school program is to support our students as they develop into well rounded individuals. It's important they recognize, understand, and take ownership of their role as future leaders, educators, parents, and citizens. OUR STUDENT'S INVESTMENT ENTITLES THEM TO: * Program Focus: Entrepreneurship & Knowledge Of Self * Automatic Enrollment to our Be A Visionary or Shake It Off Mentoring Program * One-on-One Mentor * Personal Portfolio Packet & Resume Builder (Professional & Personal) * Summer Internships * Entrepreneur Business Start-Up (Summer) * FREE Transportation * FREE Meals * Open Monday-Friday (2:30PM-7PM) & Saturdays (10AM-1PM) * Open During School Breaks (6AM-6PM) * Summer Camp (Monday - Friday 6AM-6PM) * Unconventional Academic Curriculum * Wraparound Process -Teach One Academy Advocate * Psychologist and Nurse On Call * Mandatory Education IRA (Primerica) * Entrepreneur Business Startup Curriculum * Summer Internships * High School Students (17 & 18 Years Old): FREE Financial Planning Education Track (Primerica - Includes Licenses) * Parents: Free Debt Analysis & Retirement Planning (Primerica)
Be A Visionary & Shake It Off Mentoring ProgramsTeach One Academy will support the total need of our youths. Our adopted Wraparound Process will include conventional and unconventional approaches to supporting children and young adults emotionally, socially, educationally, physically, and spiritually. The goal is to assist underprivileged young adults and their families to move to a better place in their lives and to prepare a better future for themselves, their families, as well as the communities they live in. We provide Elementary through High School youths with a detailed Road Map of defining attributes of Manhood and Womanhood. We emphasize Loving and Celebrating their individuality consisting of their physical, mental, and emotional attributes. We also provide them with Career Options by providing the tools for them to explore their likes, and dislikes, and assist them to nurture relationships through our mentors, their internship programs, and various quarterly projects. It is important our youths visualize different faces to success other than what they view on television and hear on the radio. As such, we partner with those of community that speak their language and they emulate. Teach One Academy's primary goals are to minimize the rates of juvenile incarceration, gang violence, black-on-black crime, and substance abuse among the youths and adults of our community, and to increase the graduation rate within the communities we serve.
